Education and Learning

Education and learning is a lifelong process. The most intensive and sensitive period of child’s cognitive (mental) development is from early infancy to 10 years of age.

Temper tantrums, hitting, throwing toys and screaming "NO" are unfortunately a part of parenting a young child.

When a child behaves in an unacceptable way, remember, he or she is not being bad. It's just a way to communicate. As a teacher, you play a vital role in teaching your child the right way to behave.

Addressing challenge behaviors will help your child in the long run. At the elementary level, children with challenging behavior have a harder time making friends and get in trouble more often with teachers.

Studies have shown that children who still have challenging behaviors when they reach the teenage years are more likely to be arrested, drop out of school, abuse drugs and alcohol, or have problems into adulthood. Here are tips to help your child learn self control.

  1. The most important keys to successful behavior management are consistency and repetition. Stick to whatever rules you make all the time. Know that the rules will need to be repeated again and again for them to work.
  2. The best way to teach behavior is to use lots of rewards. For every problem behavior, there is a good behavior to take its place. Give rewards after good behavior so a child will want to do the good behavior, instead of the bad. The child should make the connection between the good behavior and the rewards.
  3. Make sure you do not accidentally reward the problem behaviors. For example, if a child throws a tantrum to get attention, don't give him/her attention. Otherwise, he/she will make the connection between the problem behavior and a reward.
  4. The child will cooperate with the rules when there is an overall positive relationship where he/she feels valued and loved. This is another reason that it is very helpful to use lots of rewards when managing behavior. Remember the '10 to 1' rule: for every negative comment or correction, there should be at least ten positive comments.
  5. Make sure the child understands what is going on. Give instructions and provide rewards, so he/she knows what is expected and why he/she is being rewarded or why he/she is not rewarded.
  6. Set things up to succeed. Do everything you can think of, to make it least likely that the problem behavior can happen. For example, if the child is throwing rocks through the window, get rid of the rocks!
  7. Get organized. Start with a simple plan that is easy to do, and stick to it. Keep a written record of progress so you know what works and what doesn't. If something isn't working, try to figure out why and try a new plan based on what you have learned.

Early Bilingualism

Researches & educators used to think that learning two languages at one time (known as simultaneous bilingualism) had a negative impact on children's development and may even cause delays or other developmental problems. Today's newer research, conducted across the disciplines of education, psychology, speech and hearing sciences and neural processes now suggests otherwise saying that early bilingualism may in fact have positive consequences on cognitive and neural development.

SEVERAL THINGS THAT WE MUST KNOW IN ENGLISH TEACHING

Children have different characteristics in learning like i said before. There are children who have strong will to learn English and children who do not have will to learn English. Children who have strong will to learn is good for us and easy to teach them. However, we must know several things when we teach them. AS teachers, there are several things when we teach them English.

The first thing is we must teach them from easiest things first. This is so important to us when we teach them. When we teach them about English, teach them step by step from easiest things. When we teach speaking, teach them some easy words which they can understand first just like car, door, father, mother, etc. After that, ask them to repeat what we have said to them. In writing, teach them to write some easy words or write down the easy words what we have said. If we do not teach them from easiest things first, children will get confused and can not understand what we have said and taught to them. It is because children brain can not get a lot of memories than the adults.

The next thing is we must teach them in good and positive ways. This also important to us in teaching process. In teaching process, we must teach them in good and positive ways. We must use good words in teaching. Teach them some words who have positive meanings and ask them to write down the words or repeat that. Do not teach in bad ways or negative ways. If we teach them with bad words and negative ways, the children will not feel comfortable in learning process and their will to learn will disappear. Worse, they will imitate bad words what we have said to them.

Finally, we must know those things in teaching process. We must teach them in good and positive ways, and from easiest things first. If we do that correctly, children will feel comfortable and happy in learning. We as a teacher will also feel comfortable and we can teach them happily. So, I suggest you all to teach children about English correctly. I suggest this because it will be good for us and for children.

FACTORS WHICH INFLUENCE THE CHILDREN LEARNING

Like i said before there are a lot of things to developed children English skill. We can use a lot of ways and technique to develop their English skill. However, there are some things that we must know when we develop their skills. Actually there are factors that influence children learning. The factors can be from inside the children or from the outside.

The first factor is from the inside. The factor is children will. This is the most important that influence children in learning. If children will to learn English is strong, it can be easy to teach them and the learning process will going well. When their will to learn is strong, they will get and understand what we teach. So as a teacher, we must make their will to learn English strong if we want their learning process going well and children can understand what we teach to them. However, if children will to learn English is weak or do not have will to learn English, it can be difficult to teach them. Children will hardly get and understand what we teach to them or for the worse, they cannot get and understand what we teach to them. If that thing happens, the learning process will not going well as we hope.

Next factor is their psychology conditions. This factor has strong relation with the first factor. Psychology conditions of children has big influence in children learning process. If children psychology conditions is good or better, their learning process will be good. They can learn English well and can get and understand what we teach to them. In contrary, if their psychology conditions is not good or bad, the learning process will not going well and they will not understand what we teach to them. They will ignore what we teach to them.

Next factor is family. Family is a strong and important factor that influence children learning process. This factor also has strong relation with two factors above. If there is a family member who can understand English and teach English, the learning process will going well. They will be helped in learning process. When they go home after the school, they can ask and tell what they have learned and what they understand about English in school. The family member who has knowledge English also can ask them to practice what they have learned and teach them again about English. It is good if children have a family member who has knowledge of English and understand English, but it is better if they have more than one family member who are understand English. If they have more than one family who can understand English and have knowledge of English, they will get more knowledge of English and their learning process will going better and may be they can make progress in learning.

Next factor is environment. This is also an important factor in their learning process. If they were born and raised in a good environment, they will learn English well. It is also good if the people of that environment have knowledge of English or the environment use English in communication. It will help children in learning English. However, if they were born and raised in a bad environment, their learning process will not going well and can be worse. It is good if they were born and raised in environment which people on them do not have English knowledge as long as that environment is a good environment. However, if the environment is bad environment, it can affect children learning and I think it can be worse if they learn the negative side from the environment.

Finally, as a teacher, we must know those factor in learning process. We must give them help in learning. We must support them in their learning. What we have taught them will influenced them in learning process. However, the important thing that we must know is teach them good and positive things.

TEACHING ENGLISH FOR DEVELOPED CHILDREN ENGLISH'S SKILLS

Children have a lot of curiosity in their head in learning. They can ask their parents what they have learned. They can imitated all they have learned whether its good or not. May be we often see this thing happen. Actually, it is not bad that children are curiosity to learn anything including learning English. We can help them to developed their listening, writing, and reading skill.

First is how to developed their listening skills. To developed their listening skills, there are some ways to do that. We can teach them with their favorite songs. Ask them to listen the songs. After that, we can ask them whether to write or tell what they have listened. Next, if you want to use simple way, we can ask them write or imitate what we have said to them.

Second is how to developed their speaking skills. There are some ways to developed their speaking skills. We can ask them to imitate what we have said. However, for this way, we must teach them speaking from the easiest and most simple words just like father, mother, their names, or anythings that they have seen in home such as table, chair, bed, etc. Next, we can use their favorite songs or cartoon. Ask them to listen the song or watch the cartoon and ask them to imitate some dialog in the cartoon. We also can ask them to review the cartoon what they have seen.

Third is how to developed their writing skills. The easiest way to developed their writing skills is ask them to write down words which we have said but we must say simple words to them. Next, we can ask them to write down a simple sentence. Write a simple sentence is an easy way to developed their writing skills. Many school use this way to teach their young students. Next, we can also teach them by ask them to write down words or sentences which they have seen on tv or read from book. Ask them to write down the easiest one first.

Finally, it is important to developed children English's skills. We can combine some techniques to teach them. However, we must teach them from the easiest way because their memories cannot take too many things and they will confused in learning. Mostly, teach them the positive ways. If we teach them the negative ways, it will become habit to them and it is bad for them and for their environments.

why children must learn English

children must learn or be taught about English as soon as possible. English is an international language now. if we teach them earlier, they can understand English enough and may be they can use English little by little. this was happened to me. my grandfather, aunt, and uncle taught me English when i was 3 years old. first they taught me some words then they asked me to practice it. after that, when i was in kindergarten they gave me story book and taught me how to pronounced it. i was so happy in that time. now, i can understand English quite well and i'm so grateful to them. maybe you can teach English with this way to children in your family or school

next, children must learn English as soon as possible is that English is beautiful language. English has beautiful sound and pattern. i have learn English since i was 3 years old but i learned it not too well. i realize that English is beautiful when i study in college. English has beautiful sound and sound so good if we speak it well and with good pronunciation.

Here I am ^^

It takes confidence to be a kid. For instance, going to a new school for the first time, kids face a lot of uncharted territory. Self-confidence rises out of a sense of competence. In other words, kids develop confidence not because parents tell them they're great, but because of their achievements, big and small. Sure, it's good to hear encouraging words from mom and dad. But words of praise mean more when they refer to a child's specific efforts or new abilities.

It's Time for Potty Training

Children signal their readiness for toilet training in various ways. They show signs of discomfort and alert their parents when their diapers are soiled. They stay dry for extended periods, including nap time, and show interest in the toilet. It's an opportune time to start the potty training process, and various tools can make it easier. Although there are ways for you to monitor this readiness, it would be unwise to attempt to proceed with toilet training before you see signs that your child has a chance of succeeding.

School Readiness

The education system sets an age when your child should start school. Age is usually the first consideration for parents when making a decision about when their child will start school. You may have some concerns about whether your child is ready to start school even if they are the “right” age.

Helping Your Child Learn to Talk

Learning to talk is a process that starts at birth, when your baby experiences how voices can sound.  By two years, most babies have a large vocabulary and can put words together to express their needs and ideas.

Between two and three years, your child’s language skills will grow by leaps and bounds.  He will string more words together to create simple sentences, such as “Mommy go bye-bye.”
